The Lost Art of Web Games

Let me be 100% honest right off the bat. I started playing flash games after adobe flash was removed. Ok, ok, I know how bad that sounds. But, I still love them and I want to talk about my favourite ones. So, without further ado, lets get into my personal favourite flash games!

The Last Earth 2

Now, this may be a more unknown flash game but it is one of my all time favourites. You can find this game on the holy grail of flash games: coolmathgames! The gameplay loop works essentially like this; you are on a far off planet and you need to farm the planets resources to survive and thrive. Its basically like a civilisation game, you know the ones, where you build a city or something and farm resources to build more stuff. And if you really like this one, they have a page on steam for the full version, which I will definitely buy when I have bought my PC one day.

Happy Wheels!!!

If you have never heard of flash games, you definitely have heard of Happy Wheels before. How Happy Wheels works is that you can drive through 2d user generated levels with various characters, who can die in a lot of bloody and gory ways. Happy Wheels is also almost singlehandedly the biggest reason for various youtubers blowing up on the platform, namely JackSepticeye and more recently Graystillplays (one of my all time favourites). If you are looking for a funny gory mess, why not give Happy Wheels a shot!

Duck Life

Now look, I didn't exactly play Duck Life on a web browser, I played it on mobile many years back, but it was still a really fun game. In Duck Life, you train your Ducks through mini games and giving them berries(?) to get them to be better at running, swimming, climbing and flying. Then, you get entered into a tournament with other Ducks to see which is the ultimate Duck. It's a really funny concept and I'm quite surprised that it was that fun.

Lavaboy and Watergirl

This is a classic flash game, Im sure most people who have played flash games before know about this one. In Lavaboy and Watergirl your mission is to get through a level while avoiding different elements like water (which only Watergirl can enter), lava (which only Lavaboy can enter) and acid which both can't enter. This game is ment to be played with two player, but can also be played alone just fine. Its a really fun game with some difficult levels, but is mostly just pure fun.

Lego (?) RC car game

So I can't exactly remember this ones name, because I lost it a while back. But basically, you play as a Lego remote controlled car and you need to drive and collect checkpoints in a time limit. Where do you drive exactly? Well, its kinda like a museum? Or a storing room? I don't know, its a weird design, but charming non the less. And the gameplay loop can get really fun and addicting after a while. But it's a great game, and if someone can find it, please leave it in the comments for me, would really appreciate it.

Alice is Dead

Alice is dead is one great game. Its a point and click game where you play as Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. I will be extra vague when explaining this game, because it's a story game, and it is getting a full version on steam one of these days. But you play in the world of Alice in Wonderland, but everything isn't as it seems. This is personally my all time favourite flash game, seriously its such an interesting concept. I highly recommend this one.

Conclusion

I think this is a good place to end this blog entry. I hope you all enjoyed, and I hope I brought back memories for some, and introduced others to the wonderous world of Flash Games!
